Devastation in Busia, Uganda
Please join us in prayer for the community of Busia, where storms and heavy winds came through recently, with much destruction. The new church we had been building for Busia Calvary Baptist Church was destroyed, and one man, Vincent, who was working at the property, was killed. Please pray for his family, and the 8 children he left behind. A school (located near the property but not belonging to Helping Hands) was also destroyed by heavy winds. Please remember the church members and the community of Busia, and pray that God would use this tragedy for His glory, and to bring people to know His Son, Jesus Christ.

This is the family and church that Helping Hands worked with in December 2006/January 2007. Praise God that a church in Texas recently made a donation to get work started on the remodeling of the church, but much financial assistance is still needed. 2008 Mission Teams
Praise God for the work that was done in April by 45 team members, from Georgia and Florida. 389 people received Christ as their Savior. Helping Hands will do mission work in Uganda in July; Mongolia in August (tentative.) October 2008, we have a Senior Trip to Bolivia. Please pray for safety and
peace for team members; and that work would be done for God’s kingdom and

Uganda Orphans
Helping Hands helps support over 500 orphans at the Busia Calvary
Orphan Center
and School in Uganda. There are thousands more orphans on the streets
of Uganda
who need food and shelter. Please
pray that the Lord would provide funds for us to care for more of the
children who need help.

Bolivian
Jungle Villages of Asunta and Oromomo
These villages along the Secure
River in Bolivia are
home to Yura and Chimani tribes. Many of the villagers never leave their
native village. They worship many
different gods, and when they hear about Jesus, they just add Him on to
their list of gods. Pray for their
eyes and hearts to be open to the gospel, and for Christians willing to go
and disciple in these villages.

New
Church Plants
There are 15 new churches that have been planted in the Busia district
of Uganda, Eastern Africa in the past several years. All of these need
prayers: the pastors need financial
support for at least 3 years; pray for continued strong discipleship of new
believers.

Word of
Life Missionaries in Bolivia
Helping Hands works with several missionaries in Bolivia,
who serve with Word of Life Ministries.
We support them financially as we have the resources, but they all
need additional financial support.

Pastor
and Leader Bible Training Program
We have a 2-year Bible Training Program in Bolivia, with the current
session running from March 2007 through November 2008. Pray for the pastors and leaders who will
be attending. The churches in Bolivia
need to be strong in Bible teaching, evangelism, discipleship, and outreach
into their own communities.
