LONG-TERM VOLUNTEERS

Helping Hands offers many opportunities to serve on the mission field for extended periods, which is considered to be more than 14 days.  Currently, we have needs for long-term volunteers in Bolivia and Uganda.

·         Uganda, Africa.  A couple is needed to serve a minimum of one year in the village of Busia, Uganda, Eastern Africa.  If a couple has children, they would need to home-school the children, and understand the less-than-optimal conditions of the location of this ministry.  Ministry includes oversight of construction projects: church, pastorate, and classrooms for an Orphan School; also working, overseeing, and teaching at the Busia Calvary Orphan Center and School which has over 500 orphans.  Depending on gifts and interests of volunteers, there would also be opportunities for adult Bible teaching

·         Uganda, Africa.  We need single males who are interested in various mission opportunities to work in Busia, Uganda.  Work includes construction; overseeing and reporting of construction projects; working with orphans at Busia Calvary Orphan School.  We will help arrange accommodations.

• Bolivia, South America.  Many opportunities are available throughout the year to serve in the region of Cochabamba, Bolivia.  Male, female, single, young married couples, or 2nd career couples are encouraged to come and work for the Lord from 2 weeks to a lifetime.  There are various ministry opportunities, including children's ministry (evangelism, discipleship); medical work; construction; and involvement in Programs such as Pastor Training, Outreach for Business Leaders; church planting; and evangelism and discipleship in jungle and mountain villages. We also need trained teachers to work at Aguila Christian Academy, a home-school program (Abeka) for missionary kids.

Below are listed categories and expenses for extended term volunteers.

Extended Term  Volunteer: Category A (from 15-90 days)

• All travel expenses  to designated mission field
• In-Country Expenses:  $10 per day- includes housing and transportation
• Food to be purchased and prepared by the volunteer
• Insurance: $3 per day
• Visa cost (if any)
• Airport Departure Tax
• All personal spending money; cost of tourism or excursions; souvenirs; extra snacks, etc.

Extended Term  Volunteer: Category B (more than 90 days)

• All travel expenses  to designated mission field
• In-Country Expenses:  $100 per month for housing
• Food to be purchased and prepared by the volunteer
• Volunteer is expected to share in expenses of transportation
• Insurance: $3 per day (optional)
• Visa cost (if any)
• Airport Departure Tax
• All personal spending money; cost of tourism or excursions; souvenirs; extra snacks, etc.

* Please be aware that for all mission opportunities listed,
the volunteer is responsible for raising financial support for the period of service.
