Children's Missions

Children’s Mission of Love
…helping the least of our brethren.
Helping Hands works in several capacities with children of the world, including on-going mission work and ministry in Bolivia, Uganda, and Mexico. Our work is primarily centered in orphanages and children’s homes and in schools; however, we also do short-term mission trips to various other countries for evangelism, discipleship, and medical care for children. Our Mission of Love for children is four-fold:

Evangelism and Discipleship

Our primary focus is to share the love of Christ with the children of the world. Whether we are providing medical care, giving shoes and clothes, or sharing a hug and smile, we want to make sure the children know that Jesus gives them hope for tomorrow. Our mission teams visit orphanages, children’s homes, and schools to do evangelistic dramas; we also have regular discipleship programs in several orphanages in Bolivia, South America. We work to ensure follow-up of the children who receive Christ as their Savior.

Medical and Dental Care

Health care in developing countries is poor to non-existent; many children are undernourished and susceptible to diseases such as malaria, Aids, and typhoid fever. Diseases that are easily treatable with antibiotics in developed countries bring quick death to children who have no access to doctors and medicines.Helping Hands works to provide regular medical and dental care to children in areas of Bolivia, South America, and Uganda, Africa. In other countries, we send medical mission teams to assist with short-term care and help financially with medical follow-up as needed. As Jesus went about his ministry here on earth, He showed special attention and compassion for children; can we do any less?

Daily Living-Food, Clothing, Education

If we simply talk about the plight of children across the world and never do anything, what good is our faith? Helping Hands wants to demonstrate the love of Christ in a practical way. Thus, in many places, we are helping to provide food, clothing, shelter, and a Christian education for children who have little hope for today or tomorrow. In orphanages, on the streets, in jungles, we go to the poorest of the poor, doing as Jesus did-helping the children physically and spiritually.

Uganda Children Sponsorship program

Uganda is one of the poorest countries in Africa; the average life expectancy in Uganda is approximately 43 years. Aids and other deadly diseases claim thousands of lives each year, leaving many children without parents and homes. Through our sponsorship program, Helping Hands provides food, clothing, medical care, and a Christian education for many of these children. For only $25 monthly, a sponsor can change the life of a child who is in desperate need of help. A sponsor receives biographical information about the child; regular updates; and personal letters or art from the child.
